Château de Rolland Sauternes 750mL
Chateau de Rolland is one of the oldest chateau of Barsac, from the 15th century. It produces a soft Sauternes wine. Faithful to its identity, Chateau de Rolland still keeps today the appellation "Barsac AOC". Located close to the "Ciron" river, which enters closeby the Garonne river, the vineyard has an exceptional location and ideal soils.
A strict vinification and a traditional ageing in barrels also influence the character of this Barsac wine. The extreme quality of soils around the area due to the proximity to the Garonne river enables a very high quality ageing of dry white wines, a dry white of the Graves appellation, a dry white of Bordeaux, and a rosé wine "Rubis d'Automne".
Now run by François, Lucie and Monique Guignard, this 18 hectares estate is owned by this family for 43 years. Its vines surround a 15th century dovecote.
